Our sports medicine physicians specialize in the non-surgical management of a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions—not limited to sports-related injuries. They provide comprehensive care for:

  • Acute and chronic injuries.

  • Joint and soft tissue pain.

  • Overuse injuries such as tendinitis and stress fractures.

  • Osteoarthritis and degenerative joint conditions.

  • Back and neck pain.

  • Concussions and post-concussion symptoms.

They also offer musculoskeletal (MSK) injections—including corticosteroid, hyaluronic acid, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP)—to help reduce pain and inflammation. When appropriate, these procedures may be performed under ultrasound guidance to enhance precision and effectiveness.

We offer a variety of MSK injections to help manage pain, reduce inflammation, and support healing for joint and soft tissue conditions. Your physician will determine the most appropriate treatment approach, which may include:

  • Orthobiologics – Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), N-Stride, and Mini GPS III to promote tissue repair and regeneration.

  • Hyaluronic Acid Injections – Cingal, Durolane, Monovisc, and Sportvis to relieve joint pain and improve mobility.

  • Corticosteroid Injections – For targeted, anti-inflammatory pain relief.

  • Toradol (Ketorolac) Injections – For short-term relief of acute pain.

  • Trigger Point Injections – To alleviate muscle tension and myofascial pain.

Active Medicine Toronto’s Return to Play Program provides athletes and active individuals with the testing they need to feel comfortable and confident returning to sport or activity after sustaining an injury or recovering from orthopaedic surgery. The Program is delivered by one of our skilled Athletic Therapists.

The Program includes:

  • Assessment from an Athletic Therapist (including sport/ activity-specific testing).
  • Biodex analysis of the injured joint.
  • Individualized strength and conditioning programming recommendations.
  • A 30-minute treatment session with an Athletic Therapist.

Active Medicine Toronto’s Pre-Season Medical Program is designed for athletes who require baseline preventative medical screening, concussion testing (SCAT6) and functional movement screening prior to participation in sport.  The Program is jointly delivered by one of our Sports Medicine Physicians and Athletic Therapists.

The Program includes:

  • Pre-participation medical exam by a Sports Medicine Physician.
  • Biodex analysis (sport-specific) by an Athletic Therapist.
  • Baseline concussion testing (SCAT6) by an Athletic Therapist.
  • Functional movement screening by an Athletic Therapist.

Active Medicine Toronto’s Fitness Recovery Session helps reduce muscle soreness and eliminate metabolic waste after an intense workout. Athletes and active individuals work with an Athletic Therapist to reduce the feeling of delayed-onset muscle soreness and muscle tightness in preparation for their next activity session.

Each session is 45 minutes and includes:

  • Individualized mobility assessment and athletic therapy treatment session.
  • Myofascial Stretching.
  • Muscle Flush.
  • Active Muscle Stretching.
  • Normatec Compression System.
  • Individualized stretching and mobility recommendations.
